| Description | The manor and 4 3/4 yardlands were purchased by Andrew Lagrange of Lyons Inn, Middx, in 1722 from John Wodhull, to whom the land was conveyed as part of the marriage settlement of John and Anne Woodward in 1686. The Woodward family had held the manor of Avon Dassett since 1610, when it was granted to them by James I.
These deeds originally formed part of a larger bundle of deeds relating to the property of the Woodwards, the catalogue of which has been divided to illustrate bundles relating to distinct properties. |
