| Description | This pencilled biographical note describes Mildred Lewes, 'tall, bright eyes and cheeks, dark hair, very vivacious...' Once a schoolteacher in Notting Hill, Mildred, the author tells us, went to the 'Wild West' and married a cowboy; the cowboy, the note tells, apparently became a senator. |

Left England to take a post as school teacher in the Wild West, after a few years married a cow-boy, who was later elected to the Senate, then they went to live in a town. I think she has been dead for some time, as my friend lost sight of her some years ago.
