My dear Father,
I hear from Oxford that the next degree day is Feb. 13th I shall try and go up on that day as I hear WaIter Flower an old friend of mine is going up then for the same purpose. As to money the state of the case is this. I owe for £sd Arrears of fees etc 24.5.6 The special fees for) MA degree) 16.5.0 ------------------------ £40.10.6 Subtract Caution Money 25.0.0 ------------------------ £15.10.6 ------------------------ ------------------ The question of Compounding for non-resident fees - is the most important -
Is it wise to pay 32.10.0. down instead of paying so much per annum - This statement is doubtful! (unless one lives to a good old age it is a loss). The Annual payment for a non resident member is about 5.10.0 I believe judging from what my arrears are since I left Oxford- If so the Composition is cheaper as 32.10.0 would at that rate be worked out in 6 years. Of course I should like to keep my name on the books - but the priveleges one gets by doing so are hardly worth the money one has to pay- What do you think? Please write me a line today-
If I compound the total payment will be £sd Composition 32.10.0 Other payments 15.10.6 ------------------------ £48.0.6 It seems and not only seems but is a great deal.
With very best love and hoping you are better believe me I remain
Yr very affect. son
Frederic R. Evans.
I hope not to want the whole of my present allowance this year so that I can duck some of that in the College coffers. |
