My dear Isaac

I was extemely sorry to hear of the demise of poor sister Chrissy but having heard unfavourable accounts of her health, was not so much surprised as I otherwise should have been; the children poor things are now orphans, the Father of the orphans, the heavenly Father guide them through this sublunary world both in worldly and spiritual affairs. I am very sorry I cannot attend the Funeral having suffered from Influenza but was much better until the last few days, got a fresh attack of Sore throat & cold, which does not leave one as soon as it did 30 years ago, now being 57 on poor Chrissy's decease 15th March. My family has also had a great deal sickness particulary in the throat; they are now better but are now very weak. I hope you & Mrs. Evans with family have escaped this sickly season; for in this County generally there has been great mortality as well as sickness. Our united regards to Mrs. Evans & family.

I remain Dear Isaac

Your affecte Brother

Robert Evans
