Mr. Walter Evans,
Nuneaton.
Dear Sir,
I hope you will excuse me taking the liberty of writing to you but as I have been to Arbury Hall twice taking photos to get up an article on "George Eliot", you will understand that I am very interested in her life.
Might I ask if you have any personal recollections of her that would be interesting & give a more home-like touch to a life that one hears of only through the public.
True, Mr. Cross' life & letters is admirable, but I should be so much obliged for the fewest more direct notes. Kindly state if there is expense attached to same; but I shall be most pleased to forward you a full set of my photos, which also illustrate scenes of her books in and around Coton & vicinity.
in anticipation of a favourable reply, I remain,
Very Truly Yours
