| Description | 89 deeds relating to a copyhold estate in the manors of Knowle and Balsall purchased by Gilbert Wilkes of Birmingham in the 1870s. The deeds were deposited by Wilkes with the National Provincial Bank, as security for his bank account, and were perhaps never returned. Schedules associated with these deposits show that the collection is far from complete, and in particular that the purchase deeds by Wilkes are absent. |
