| Description | The early part of this register, to 1606, is very well kept, the parents of one or both parties married being given and often of unmarried persons buried, also occupations; there are no entries for 1598 but a note: "NB. The year 1958 seems to have been overlook'd & omitted in the transcribing into this fresh book."; in the middle of 1653 there is a note "Here endeth the old Register booke"., the rest of the leaf is blank, except that the reverse is headed "the new Register booke"; thereafter regular entries continue throughout the Commonwealth periods but with births instead of baptisms from 15 Dec 1653 until 24 Aug 1661; after 8 Jan 1665 there is no entry until 7 Nov 1670, a note by the next vicar states that some entries for this period supplied by the parents follow but all of these six are baptisms of children of the same parents, Robert and Katherine Lilly.
