| AdminHistory | A site was given by the Trustees of the Short Estate April 1935 but by an oversight it was sold by them; the Trustees members of the Couchman family bought back land fronting Cornyx Lane, on the Broomfield Park Estate, and conveyed it to the parish 1937; the foundation stone was laid 23 September 1939 but the work had to be suspended shortly after, due to lack of timber in wartime; a licence to proceed was finally obtained spring 1949 and the `Church Hall' was dedicated 25 February 1950. |
