AdminHistory | Born 26 October 1889 in Codsall, Staffordshire, Rev Hewins moved with his family to Barmouth, Wales, somewhere between 1901 and 1911. He studied at the University of Wales, matriculating in 1913, and then went on to study at Lichfield Theological College, being ordained a deacon in 1914, and priest in 1915. He served in Salonica in YMCA Corps as a Church of England Minister and received a British War medal (information concerning the sale of this medal is with the accession paperwork). He was rector of Oxhill with Whatcote, 1940-1944, and vicar of Exhall with Wixford from 1944-1950. Rev Hewins died in March 1975. |
