DescriptionIncludes: payment of 1s-6d for 6 months to G. Nichols towards the expense of his girl at the Asylum for the Deaf and Dumb, 1816, Surgeon's agreement, including midwifery, 1817-1818, lists of those "to be drawn" to serve in the Warwick Militia for whom substitutes were to be found, 1817, 1825, 1828, 1831, reference to regular inspections and maintenance of the fire engine, June 1826, and a payment of 3s-6d to William Clarke's daughter "to have a ticket for the self supporting Dispensay (sic) for 6 weeks", November 1835, and to the sale to Meriden Union of the furniture (not bedsteads) and bedding in the workhouse, and that the sale of the remainder of the effects of the workhouse and of the potatoes growing in the workhouse garden was to take place, 2nd November 1836. On 5th November, 1836 it was decided to lease for 14 years a part of the workhouse to the Guardians of Meriden Union for offices for the Registration of Marriages, Births and Deaths.
