Endorsed with a note of a meeting adjourned by the Assistant Tithe Commissioner from the rectory to the Spread Eagle Inn at Rugby, "In the meantime he will report to the Office upon the difficulties of the case...", 1 Nov 1839 (DR0254/20/1); correspondence from Harris re, inter alia, the modus in lieu of tithes on "Thorney closes" (which belonged to Sir Theophilus Biddulph), the rector's entitlement to a "Hook" of Latimer's meadow, lands liable to modus and composition payments and re the rateability of the £33 annual payment under the Local Act of 1704 "for settling of the Tithes of certain lands in Frankton ... upon Symon Biddulph esq. and his heirs and for settling a Rent Charge of £33 per annum in lieu thereof upon the present rector there and his successors for ever "and of rateability under subsequent tithe payments under the more recent Act, 7 Jan - 25 June 1842 (DR0254/20/2-4); total bill of account (1839-1840) from Harris to the landowners and tithe-owners of the parish for cost of proceedings for commuting the tithes specifying details of all meetings and correspondence (with agents, commissioners et al), and of all other work associated with commutation (calculating the quantity of the land, searching for documents etc.), (DR0254/20/5). |
