| Description | The cases - Hadow (Clerk) v. Barnett and others, and Hadow v. Arnold and others involved non-payment of tithes: defendents offered moduses in lieu to the Rev. W.J. Hadow, as they had always done by tradition, but he refused them, contesting that, through his researches, tithes were due to him.
(i) Papers relating to the history of tithe and copies of substantially earlier documents copied by Rev. Hadow. Include maps of the parish, terriers, family pedigrees and abstracts of parish and tithe accounts 1827-1835.
(ii) One large volume of correspondence relating to the disputes, and the action to be taken 1827-1838.
(iii) Haseley tithe suits memoranda book 1832-1834.
(iv) Papers used in the proceedings: copies of parish documents, amended bills and observations relating to the cases against Barnett and Arnold, also an agreement to stay further proceedings in a title suit against two other parishioners, 1833 1833-1835.
