DescriptionBy her will dated 22 Dec 1780 Margaret Underhill bequeathed £100 to the minister, churchwardens and overseers of the poor upon trust to be put out at interest on real or government securities and the interest was to be distributed annually to the poor inhabitants of Idlicote.
The money was invested in the purchase of £175 1s. 6d. of consolidated 3% annuities in the name of Samuel Peach esq. (proprietor of an estate transferred to him in Jan 1815 by Rev. Thomas Fisher, rector, comprising the whole parish of Idlicote) The usual dividend - £5 5s. was distributed about Christmas in articles of clothing among the industrious poor of the parish.
