W. Somerville to W.J. Rodber (Sec. of the Soc.) reporting on the progress of the work and explaining the reasons for the delay in the work referring to the uncovering of defects in the old materials when "pulling down the walls and taking up the floors" and to the vicar's disappointment at "the dissolute habits of the stone masons which considerably retarded the working - causing a succession of workmen" and the difficulties which they encountered in procuring stone "fit for the work" at Meriden quarry, No Date, 1827.
