DescriptionLetter starts with Cowper's "An epistle to a Protestant Lady in France" transcribed for her sister-in-law. D. [Deborah] is an admirer of most of Cowper's poetry. Her grief at her separation from Anna who went to Ireland with E.C [Edward Carroll] on his father's death, and will get J.B.L's books there. Little Richard Lowe is very poorly and not strong. Hagger and family are coming to stay. The American Friends are now in France. Elizabeth Barker is interesting and refined, and in this is different from other Americans Deborah has met. Has been reading Hannah More's essay on St.Paul. How is William Gibbins?
