TitleLeamington Spa Building Society
DescriptionThe Leamington Spa Building Society was established in 1853, when it was known as the Leamington, Warwick, and South Warwickshire Permanent Benefit Building Society. It became known as the Leamington Spa Building Society in 1932. Initially it held fortnightly subscription meetings in the Literary and Scientific Institute (the Public Hall), Windsor Street, Leamington Spa. By 1856 until 1889 it was at 23A Regent Street, and from 1937 until 1969 it was at 10 Euston Place. The Head Office was then moved to 24 Warwick New Road. It moved to Milverton Hill in 1984. A copy of the society's rules (1853) is available in the record office library (ref. C.332.Rul (P)), and see below, /1J. In 1979 it took over the Brierley Hill and Stourbridge Incorporated Building Society, of Brierley Hill, Staffs (see below for the records of that society).
