AdminHistory | The Leamington Literary and Philosophical Society was formed in 1912, with the object of bringing together 'the thinking men of all religions and philosophical schools of thought to exchange views by the reading of papers on various religious and philosophical subjects and discussion'.
In the beginning the Society was open to men only, but in May 1916, probably as a consequence of the First World War, membership was extended to women, and the Society altered its name to 'The Leamington Literary Society'. |
