Thanks for letter of warm congratulations: gratitude for being preserved and having a strong and healthy baby: regaining of her health and strength: her feelings on being a mother, which she can scarcely believe: John's delight with the baby, if a little disappointed at its not being a boy: description of her diet, like that of an invalid: having a horrible toothache, but not wanting to go to a dentist: father's kindness and consent to be godfather: the christening and her churching hopefully to be on the 26th, anxious for the child to be vaccinated before leaving town: kindness and attention of Mr Stone: baby to be called Anna Eliza, with Annie Gooch and aunt Stephens asked to be godmothers: her not having meant to sound harsh about father, in saying his manner having appeared to be cold in not returning the affection she had expected, being sure that he had had feelings but had not expressed them: little being seen of Lady Elizabeth [Repton], far from well: property of Lord Eldon sworn under £700,000: wish for news of his boy: her wet nursing going well, having tried unsuccessfully herself for a week: bet of Sir Charles Clarke for her to have a boy in 12 months time.
