DescriptionWormleighton National School and the Arnold Educational Foundation (formerly Arnold's Charity).
Wormleighton Church of England School was endowed in 1839 and in 1880 it became a Government-grant National School. After 1903 it was administered by the newly created L.E.A. as a council School until its closure in 1948. From 1849 it was the recipient of an Endowment (Arnold's Charity) whose operation was altered in 1903 whence a new Scheme was established providing a different application of the income. The records have been divided into sub-sections relating to the period 1880-1903 (from the Board of Education as a National School), to Diocesan Administration (1872-1914), to the period 1904-1948 (from the Warwickshire L.E.A. as a Council School) and to Arnold's Charity and the Educational Foundation, (1887-1955).
