Busy with furnishing and finishing the house: thanks for letter: safe arrival of box of gifts from Wathen, with scarf meant for her being presented to their new sister, as it looked so bridal: delight of the family with Ernest's new wife, whom she is sure Wathen will like: distribution of Wathen's gifts: Ernest and Louisa's pleasure at getting butter stand from him: husband's depression on 1-3 Jan caused by new medicine, but the benefit to him of their Warwickshire trip and staying at Offchurch, in spite of misgivings of Dr Bernard: the wedding going off "prosperously": the bridal pair being then at Camerton: joy at Wathen being comfortable and joining in a Christian service on Christmas day: hope for arrival of sketch of the house: work at the house almost finished, with only a few minor inconveniences to put right: declining of his offer of money, with the the giving up of new stables and the better than expected accounts from the West Indies: instructions on sending of foodstuffs: thanks again for fur cloak: hopes of seeing each other again.
