TitleLetter from Anna Eliza Jarrett to her brother Thomas Wathen Waller
Date25 Dec 1840
DescriptionWritten from 30 Albemarle Street.
Thanks for two letters: thanks to God for sustaining her during her severe sickness, for restoring all who are dear to her and for the mercy, grace and power of his love: her babies being with their grandfather to avoid infection and separated from her: her father's part in her recovery, with his kindness and preparation of a lotion for her throat, which was marvelously effective, much to the amazement of Mr Stone: true friendship of Lady Nicolson (maiden name Russell), a comfort not only to herself but also to her husband John, in distress about her illness but also calm and self-possessed: her recovery advanced, but still not strong on her legs: given leave to go to church on 4/5th then to Richmond for a few days before being allowed to see her children on or about the 11th: pleasure at hearing all well with his family: sister Georgiana and Lady Elizabeth to be godothers: request to him to be a godfather to the child, whose name, she believes, is to be Emily Elizabeth: death of Mrs Blunt, Sainsbury's aunt, with him getting an additional £10,000 at least.
She addresses him as Pothy and signs herself Kittie, their childhood names.
Three sheets, with 10 pages of text.
