DescriptionThe Newbold Revel estate, which included property in
Easenhall, Pailton, Street Ashton and Stretton-under-Fosse, was held by the Skipwith family from the 17th century until it was sold by Sir Thomas George Skipwith, bart. to Charles Ramsden of Grosvenor Crescent, Middlesex between 1857 and 1859. Ramsden conveyed the property to Edward Wood of Port-Hill, Staffordshire in 1862 and Wood continued to add further property once belonging to the Skipwiths in succeeding years. The property descended to Arthur H. Wood, who had sold it to Arthur Howard Heath by 1900. He conveyed it to Leo Bonn of 22 Upper Brook Street, London, in 1911 for £55,000.
