TitleHOLLAND AND HOLT, STAINED GLASS MAKERS OF ST JOHN'S WARWICK
Date19th century
DescriptionDesigns for stained glass windows, walls and ceilings

William Holland, home and sign painter, first appears in the 1828/9 directory. At that time his address was in Wallace Street, Warwick, but by 1835 he had moved to Smith Street and by 1851 to St John's. By this date his business included house painting and papering, plumbing and stained glass work. By 1874, Holland and Holt (Thomas Holland and Frank Holt) are listed as glass stainers, St John's. By 1880 the firm had become F Holt & Co, glass stainers, glaziers and gilders and remained largely the same (though it subsequently moved to Priory Road) until the company ceased in the 1920's.
