TitlePapers regarding 'Whale v Robinson'
Date1872-1874
DescriptionA Chancery case contesting the way in which the terms of the will of Thomas Hood of Nuneaton, ribbon manufacturer, had been carried out. Hood had died 11th November 1868, and his will had been proven 24th March 1869 by his widow, Ann Hood, one of his executors, who died 26th February 1870. The other of Hood's executors, John Robinson, late of Nuneaton, now of Chilvers Coton, maltster and farmer, renounced any interest in Hood's will, 11th March 1872. Part of Hood's property was sold at auction; lot 3 was sold to James Tomkinson, Henry Richard Tomkinson, and Richard Hoare, and the purchase money was paid into Chancery. Abstracts of title begin in 1844, tracing Hood's title from the will of Henry Charles Aston of Aston, esquire. (See CR0917/49-50 and CR0917/30 above).
