| Description | The Midland Colliery Owners Mutual Indemnity Co. Ltd. (MCOMIC) was established in 1898 to provide insurance for colliery owners against accidents and industrial diseases. MCOMIC, with the assistance of the Bolsover Colliery Company and the Butterly Colliery Company, established the Miners' Rehabilitation Centre at Berry Hill in Mansfield. Following the nationalisation of the coal industry in 1947, MCOMIC was absorbed by the National Coal Board. |
