1 - Correspondence mainly between William Smith, tenant of the farm at Thorpe in the Mire, and John Perkins, later Josiah Corrie, trustees at Kenilworth, as to whether Thorpe in the Mire was a manor in itself as regards gaming rights, whether the farm has manorial rights, the conditions of the barn at the farm, and the wish to build a new one, with a plan and estimate of expenses involved. - 1774-1800
2 - Bundle of letters from William Smith, tenant of Ludford Farm at South Elkington, to William Welch, and later John Perkins, at Kenilworth, enclosing bills or draft values for rent and land tax due, giving details of his plans for alterations on the farm, notifying the trustees of the fixing of the price of tithes by the clergyman of Ludford, supplying tremendous detail of distress in the neighbourhood due to the agricultural depression and his plea for a reduction in rent in the present circumstances and wish for renewal of rent. - 1802-1830
