| Description | For taking down the east wall and roof of the chancel and extend it by 20 ft. and re-roof the whole chancel, to take down the North and South arcades of the chancel and rebuild them if necessary to take down the east Gable wall of the Nave and rebuild it on a safe and suitable arch; remove the West Gallery and open the lower part of the Tower to the church and put in a new floor for the ringers; build up the West doorway and make a new doorway to the Belfry stairs; to lower in part the North and South Galleries and alter the fronts and staircases; make additions to the North Gallery at each end, to the south gallery at the west end and to take down the whole of the existing sittings on the ground floor, alter and refit a portion and remove the remainder; to substitute new sittings of oak, with new floors; to alter the Pulpit and Reading Desk; to provide a new font; to repair and alter the vestry roof and put in flues for stoves; removal of some monuments, tablets, and graves; all of which it is estimated will cost £2183 mainly to be raised by public subscription |
