Title"Solihull Parish Magazine", Vol. I, No. 1. - Vol. VI. No. 12. , with MS index at end.
Date1880-1885
DescriptionComprises, besides current events, historical articles, in most of the monthly issues, dealing with such matters as the history, architecture, restoration, repair and bells of the church; monumental inscriptions in the church and churchyard; the rectors; the parish registers, with extracts; the accounts of the parish officers and minutes of meetings of the vestry, each with extracts; a terrier of the glebe 1742; perambulations of the parish 1662, 1674, 1836; the town hall demolished 1880; the new buildings for the Grammar School 1882, followed by a history of the school; the Church House 1885; the workhouse; Malvern Hall; entries in the Register of the Guild of Knowle, in the Trayne Band 1612 and in the Hearth Tax Return for 1663; church hymns; also with local government, and the moss flora of the district.
A memorandum in the last issue states that the publication of extracts from the parish documents has ended, the support given to the "Parish Magazine" being too slender to justify continued expense, and asks for continued support if a quarterly issue of the Magazine should be adopted instead of a monthly publication.
