Will of Isabella Lee wife of John Lee of Warwick, and late wife of Thomas Carpenter of Warwick deceased; body to be buried in the churchyard of St. Nicholas, Warwick; to the mother church of Worcester 4d; to the altar of St. Nicholas' church 8d; to Margery, her servant, a gown and kirtle; to Elizabeth Baly a gown; to each of her maids a kercheff; to Alice Page a violet coloured gown; residue of her goods to John Lee her husband. One messuage and two cottages in Smith Street, which she and her former husband purchased from Richard Norton and John Shottiswell feoffees of John Smith [in 1479] and granted to John Akerman clerk and Thomas Shotteswell. Thomas the son and heir of John Shotteswell who is the son and heir of Thomas Shotteswell shall, on her death, make sufficient estate in law concerning the messuage to 10 or 12 honest men to hold to the use of John Lee her husband for his life, then to augment the stipend of priest in the church of St. Nicholas' and for an obit in the same church for the souls of Thomas Carpenter and Isabella his wife and of all the faithful departed; and for providing candles before the image of the Virgin. The said Thomas Shotteswell shall make a sufficient estate concerning the 2 cottages to John Lee.
