DescriptionIndenture of mortgage to secure £100 and interest, from Henry Eyres of Wedhampton, Wiltshire, esquire, to William Hewer of Clapham, Surrey, esquire, of a sixth part of messuages and lands at Charlewood and Horley, Surrey, with the advowson of the church of Charlewood, as mortgaged in indentures dated 1-2 May 1679 by Francis, Earl of Longford, to James Halsall, who, by his will, devised the properties into six equal parts, to be shared between his son and daughters, one share of which fell to Susannah, wife of Henry Eyres, the properties being debarred to the heirs and representatives of the Earl by virtue of Chancery decree following default of payment, to be held for a term of 500 years, in consideration of the further sum of 5 shillings.
