DescriptionIndented deed of exchange between Harsculph, son of William de Cleseby and his wife Agnes, and the abbot and canons of the church of St. Agatha near Richem' [Richmond]: the church obtains 2 acres of land in the field and district of Tunstal [Tunstall] (comprising one acre in Langestscupe and another above Payrbergt') and rent worth ½ mark a year on 2 bovates of land in the village and district of Neuton Morel [Newton Morrell] in the hands of Sir John, son of Michael, together with the homage and service of John: Harsculph and Agnes obtain one croft and toft and one bovate of land in the township and district of Ellerton near Bolton.
Witnesses: Sirs John Le Breton of Coleburne, Thomas Baudewyn, Halnatheus of Halnatheby, Hugh son of Roger de Asc, knights, Robert son of Harsculph de Cleseby, John of Crancewyk' in Aldeburg' [Aldburgh], Simon de Melsaneby, William de Hocton, William de Burgo, Hugh le Serjant of Neuton and others.
Endorsed in pencil as undated, c1250, with number "9" in ink .
