Description | Indenture of lease by Dame Jane Bowyer of the Priory near Warwick, widow, Vincent Grantham of Goltho, Lincolnshire, esquire, and Richard Grantham his son and heir apparent, to John Williams of the borough of Warwick, gentleman, Henry Jephcott of the Priory near Warwick, gentleman, and Francis Smith of the borough of Warwick, mason, of the residue of a term of 500 years [from 10 Mar 1694], relating to the mills, springs, streams, lean-to stable, powers, licences, etc for the water supply to the inhabitants of Warwick, with new powers to dig up the old pipes and put new ones in new trenches, at the annual rent of £5, with recitals of the indenture of lease dated 10 March 1693 [1694], the engine not being sufficent for the providing of water to the town, the demolition of the two mills called the Priory Mills and the erection of a new engine and the laying of new pipes, the indenture of 25 Dec 1703, the initial grant of liberties by Sir Henry Puckering alias Newton being insufficient to support the waterworks, with the pipes not being in convenient places. 20 June 5 Anne 1706.
