DescriptionCounterpart indenture of lease by Sir Henry Puckering alias Newton of the Priory in or near the borough of Warwick, baronet, to John Dawkes of Lillington, husbandman, of a messuage, 3 barns, a stable, a house, garden, orchard and yard, closes called the Little Close (near to an orchard in the occupation of Elizabeth Newberry, widow, containing 2 roods 23 perches), the Nether Close alias Broad Close (1 acre 3 roods) and Hovill Close (lying near the messuage, containing 3 roods), and two and a half yardlands (c40 acres) of arable land, meadow, pasture, furze and heath, all in Lillington, then or late in the occupation of John Dawkes and reputed to have been occupied by Margery Greenway, widow, to be held from 25 March next for a term of 21 years, at the annual rent of £18 15s, with an additional 5 shillings for each rood ploughed of land which had not been ploughed "within the Memory of Man".
