DescriptionCounterpart indenture of lease by Sir Henry Puckering alias Newton of the Priory in or near the borough of Warwick, baronet, to Elizabeth Nichols of Lillington, widow, and Abraham Nichols, one of her sons, of a messuage, 2 barns, stable, garden, orchard and yard, with a close adjoining the yard (half an acre), a close called Wall Croft (2 acres 2 roods 8 perches, between the Home Close occupied by Richard Hewit and the Pound Close occupied by Alexander Dawkes), and one and three quarters yardlands (c63 acres) of arable land etc, all in Lillington, in the occupation of Elizabeth Nichols and reputed to have been occupied by Thomas Nichols, late the father of Humfrey Nichols, late husband of Elizabeth, to be held from 25 March next for a term of 21 years, at the annual rent of £13 2s 6d, with an additional 5 shillings for each rood ploughed of land which had not been ploughed "within the Memory of Man".

Endorsed with lease by Sir Henry Puckering alias Newton to Abraham Nichols, of one and three quarters yardlands (c27 acres) in the common fields of Lillington and the Townsend Close (1 acres 25 perches), anciently let with the house where Elizabeth Newbery dwells (reserving the house, orchard, the little pingle at the orchard end and common of pasture), to be held from 25 March next for a term of 14 years, at the annual rent of £11 2s 6d, 7 Mar 1690/91, with seal applied for Abraham Nicholls (who made his mark).
