Inserted inside are loose scraps of paper containing five recipes, between the following pages:
pp14-15, variation on lemon cordial:
pp 104-105, pie of rosemary for any paralitic complaint:
pp112-113, for the worms, currant jelly (incomplete), and roast of leg of mutton.
On the parchment cover is written 'Mary Wise'.
RelatedMaterialMary Wise may have been the wife of Henry Wise (who died in 1778 and succeeded his father Henry Wise, who had bought the Priory estate in 1709). Her maiden name was Tilson, and she came from the parish of St Margaret, Westminster. They married in 1732, and she died in 1760.
