Before receiving his note, having read with pleasure the gallant Colonel Yea's eulogy of his young protégé, General Wetherall having shown him the letter: his being very glad should he have the opportunity to bring him forward, having set a good mark against his name, on attaining the rank of captain. PS: of Sir HS having marked the remark "Lord Hardinge never forgets".
