DescriptionThomas Englefield, serjeant at law, Thomas Hampden esq. George Throckmorton, Richard Throckmorton, William Saunsey, Edward Warner, Robert Warner and Robert Smyth in our court at Westminster impleaded William Boughton, esq., of the manor of Kempton Herdwyk with appurtenances and 4 messuages, 100 acres of land, 40 meadow, 100 pasture, 10 wood, and a 30s. rental, by a writ of entry as follows: Pleas at Westminster in the court of Robert Brudenell, knight, and his fellow justices of the King's Bench, Hilary Term 14 Henry VIII, Roll 237 for Bedfordshire. The former through Thomas Bryggys their attorney sought against William Boughton, esq., the manor of Kempton Herdwyk with appurtenances etc. as their right and inheritance which William Boughton had after their unjust dispossession by Hugh Hunt. William Boughton by Andrew Barnard, his attorney, came and defended his right and called to Warranty Thomas Fysshe, The querent imparled with Fyssh, who afterwards did not return to court tho' solemnly called, and judgment went by default to the quarents at whose request this exemplification was made. 12 February. 14 Henry VIII.
