Description | The former have exchanged with Henry their third part of all the messuages, tenements etc., called Gristedes and Southstynknasse, in the parishes of Bursgifford, Southbeinflete, Thundersley and Raylegh, for Henry's lands and tenements called Ryther's, Polcattis, and 2 crofts of land and a meadow, adjoining the lands called Polcattis; and for £4. 3. 4d to be paid to Thomas and Johanne at the feast of Saint Michael, next coming; Henry binds himself by these presents to purchase a tenement and 2 crofts of land (8 acres altogether) from Master Appulton, lying within the aforesaid land (Ryther's), at the yearly value of 13s. 4d. to the use of Thomas and Johanne and her heirs by the said feast of Michaelmas, or else to be delivered to William Alen of Raylegh or Richard his son, as much money as is necessary to its purchase.
