DescriptionDedication and consecration by Henry bishop of Lichfield and Coventry of a piece of land for the construction of a new church and additional burial ground in response to a petition by Rev Richard Bruce Stopford, vicar; Hugh Hughes, curate; William Ball and Charles Nutt, churchwardens; and the parishioners. The land was purchased in 1824 under the 'Act for building and promoting the building of additional Churches in populous parishes'. The land, amounting to one acre is situated in the north east corner of a field called the Middle Road Close which was glebe land, the east boundary is part of the Arbury, Ansley and Hartshill public road. The new church or chapel is 68 feet in length and 37 feet in breadth, with a chancel 17 feet by 13 feet 10 inches and has been furnished accordingly. The church is consecrated and dedicated to St Paul for the worship of God and celebration of divine service.
