| Description | The deeds describe different properties at different times and it is not clear how they relate to Astley's charity land, one of the problems being that they relate to the situation before the enclosure of 1754 and the charity was set up in 1770. However, it seems possible that the charity lands devolved from the yardland known as Hearne's yardland, the yardland once held by Edward Perkins and the 1/4 of a yardland once held by Roger Page. Two little closes once held by William Cock Junior and Richard Cleaver may help explain Cocks Moor. |
