Title‘Copy of letter to Q.A. B’ [Queen Anne’s Bounty] from Revd. Morris Edge.
Date30 May 1934
DescriptionRegarding the servicing of the Rectory water supply. The Rectory water supply flowed from York Farm, previously attached to the Rectory Glebe and now in the ownership of Mr E. R. Purser. The present owner of the land which the reservoir is over is Mrs Eaves. In December 1934 she wrote to Revd. Edge asking him to take up the pipes or enter into a new agreement within 6 months. The original agreement was signed in 1891. Revd. Morris states that this is the first time he has seen this agreement. Revd. Edge makes two alternative suggestions. Revd. Edge asks for advice as to which is best: pay increased rental or purchase the full rights of the water supply. Additional information about the amount of water being supplied to the Rectory. The letter makes reference to a plan, but this is not included.
