Description | Agreement between Thomas Baker, clerk, vicar of Polesworth, and Michael Biddulph, John Swinfen, Thomas Fox, Samuel Hildersam, Anthony Burgesse and George Crosse, trustees appointed by Sir Francis Nethersole, dec., that whereas the vicarage of Polesworth has become void since Sir Francis Nethersole's death, and Thomas Baker has become vicar without the knowledge or approval of the trustees and is therefore incapable of benefitting under the terms of the trust, Thomas Baker now agrees to lease the vicarage, churchyard, tithes, etc. to Henry Bateman and William Heathcott of Polesworth for 80 years if he shall so long continue vicar, at an annual rent of £35. The trustees are at liberty to appoint a minister to serve the cure while Thomas Baker remains vicar, and he may not accept any other benefice without resigning the vicarage of Polesworth. |
