The minutes end in 1888 with a memorandum: "As it is neither usual nor desirable to keep two books with minutes of the vestry meetings for the future only one will be kept" and the register of services starts with a memorandum of the arrival at Preston-upon-Stour of the Rev. J.H. Evans of Ancaster House, St. Leonards-on-Sea, 7 Aug 1891, and contains, initially, Evans' diary/log entries re the weather, the size of congregations and his movements etc.
Interspersed within the vestry minutes are memoranda re service collections and offertories (including accounts), numbers of communicants, lists of confirmation candidates and of alms collection and distribution.
Enclosed: accounts of "Offertories and Expenses" (viz. churchwardens' statements of account/balance sheets, Apr-Dec 1888 and printed offertory account, after a year's trial of the "offertory system of Church Finance" (after the end of the Church Rate), with an introduction by the Rev. F.H.
