DescriptionIndenture of lease by John Wodelowe of Warr' [Warwick] to Thomas Wodelowe of Merston [Marston], of the site of his capital messuage of the manor of Wodelowe, with all house, buildings, crofts and gardens (excepting a room inside the hall, a tannery house next to dovecotes and a croft called le Grenecroft), 2 fields called Middelfeld and Crabetrefeld, 2 meadows called Closemedowe and Lytelpakmore, a parcel of woodland in a grove, with enclosures and other profits, previously held by Thomas, to be held for a term of 13 years at the annual rent of 8 marks, also with clauses of distraint for non-repayment within 4 weeks, re-possession with a year's quarter of non-payment, good repair and maintenance by Thomas, warranty and sealing.
Witnesses: John Upton, John Mayel then bailiff of the town of Warr', William Hopkyns, John Rody, goldsmith, Geoffrey Rous and others.
Dated on the feast of St Michael the Archangel 9 Hen VI.
Endorsed with date and number "W.17" in ink.
Seal: red, round, with design of initial letter "I" with crown above it and branches at the side, attached by tag.
