Description | Articles of agreement between Robert Brome of Woodlowe, esquire, and Sir Henry Puckering alias Newton of Charlton, Kent, baronet, to set up arbitration to establish the purchase price for the capital messuage of Woodlowes House, the manor of Woodlowes, and lands, buildings, gardens, etc in Woodlow, Over Woodcote and Nether Woodcote in the parishes of St Mary and St Nicholas in Warwick and Leek Wootton, previously mortgaged in several parts to William Bolton, deceased, his son Stephen Bolton, Edward Ferrers, deceased, and Frances Fawnt, wife of Sir Francis Wortley, baronet, the valuation to be determined by the arbitrators Clement Throckmorton of Haseley, esquire, and John Broome of Fisherwick, Staffordshire, gent, with the further assistance of an umpire, William Bromley of Baginton, esquire, and published on or before 10 May next ensuing, with covenants to accept the valuation and purchase price. 18 March 1657 [by modern calendar year 1658]. Endorsed with articles of arbitration award, the valuation being £5270, with details of how the money is to be paid, with seals wrapped in paper, attached by tongues, 21 Apr 1658.
