Description | Deed of bargain and sale between Edward Fisher of Bishops Itchington, esquire, of the one part, and John Puckeringe, sergeant at the law, George Chowne of Fairelane [Fairlawn], Kent, Giles Fluyd and Christopher Puckeringe, citizens of London of the other part, whereby, in consideration of £4500, Fisher bargains and sells to Chowne, Fluydd and Christopher Puckeringe all the site of the late Priory, as in recited letters patent of 24 Sep 1546 (except for a little parcel of meadow, part of Garnishe Meadow, sold by Thomas Hawkyns alias Fisher to Reynold Browne), the premises being described as a capital messuage built on the site of the late Priory situated in or near the town of Warwick, with stables, barns, dovehouses, houses of office, other buildings, gardens, yards, courts and hereditaments, an adjoining messuage with garden, backside and close of ground late in the tenure of [blank] Bromefeilde, two water mills late in the tenure of Ralph Fisher, a malting house with kiln and malting utensils, a laundry, a slaughter house, two fowl-houses, a lime kiln, brick kiln and hop yard, and pastures called the Pinfold Close (containing 10 acres) late in the tenure of Roger Hurlbut and Robert Weste, an adjoining close of meadow (5 acres) late in the tenure of Richard Blicke, two meadows lying by the common field called Cotton Field (12 acres) late in the tenures of Oliver Brookes, Leonard Holmes and Ralph Martyn, one meadow lying near the new mill and adjoining the pasture called Combewell (10 acres) late in the tenure of John Fisher, an adjoining meadow now divided into two parts (8acres) late in the tenure of William Sharples and Robert Sheldon, one other large ground called the Park (40 acres) late in the tenures of William Lane and William Jenckes, all which grounds were near the site of the capital messuage, together with 140 acres of meadow, pasture and other lands near the capital messuage then or lately "inclosed within a pale", all woods and underwoods, and the fixtures and fabric of the captial messuage and its buildings [details further described], all being within the parishes of St Mary and St Nicholas, Warwick, and a cottage at Tachbrook, and lands, meadows, pastures at Tachbrook and the Asps, known by the names of the Naspes, Naspes Closes, Heathy Close, Heathy Closes, Barrett's Closes and Barley Close in the tenures of John Dafferne, gentleman, John Arrowsmithe, John Jefferayes and [blank] Warde, widow (144 acres in total), within two miles of the town of Warwick near the highway to London, with clauses of covenants and warranty, including on rents on lands at Tachbrook payable to the Bishop of Coventry and Lichfield.
