Description | Indenture of agreement between Sir Thomas Puckering, knight and baronet, and the Bailiff and Burgesses of the Borough of Warwick, accepting the articles of the Arbitration Award of Sir Thomas Lucye and Sir Clement Throckmerton made 21 Mar 1624, whereby Puckering agrees to pay yearly rents in discharge of the tithes and herbage of certain lands which were formerly part of the Priory estate in Warwick, comprising Comwell Parcel (6s 8d), the Common Closes (40s), the Great Pigwell (5s 4d), the Little Pigwell (2s 6d), St Michael's Meadow (5s 8d) and a meadow formerly purchased from Richard Smyth (4s 4d), as well as £8 yearly as granted for charitable purposes under the terms of the will of Lady Jane Puckering, the mother of Sir Thomas, made 17 May 9 Jas [1611], until the sum of £100 has been paid out, together with the payment of £11 to settle arrears. It is also agreed that Puckering has already discharged the articles of the award as they relate to the rents of the tihes and herbage of Palfrey Meadow (6s 8d) and Smart Meadow (1s 4d).
