DescriptionIndenture of release by Dame Jane Bowyer of the Priory in or near Warwick, widow of Sir John Bowyer of Knypersley, Staffordshire, baronet, of the 1st part, Vincent Grantham of Goltho, Lincolnshire, esquire, and his son Richard Grantham of Goltho, esquire, of the 2nd part, James Newton of London, gent, of the 3rd part, and William Gylby of Grays Inn, Middlesex, esquire, of the 4th part, to Henry Wise of Brompton Park, parish of Kensington, Middlesex, esquire, Andrew Card of Grays Inn, Middlesex, esquire, and Jacob Tonson the younger of St Andrews, Holborn, Middlesex, gent, of the 5th part, of the Priory and its closes of lands, meadows, mills, pools, messuages, etc, in or near Warwick, several rents from messuages and lands at Warwick, Radford Semele, Bishops Tachbrook, Naspes alias Asps and Barford, the manors of Woodlow [Woodloes] and Woodcote, a messuage called Woodlowes House, with messuages and lands at Woodlow, Woodcote and Leek Wootton, the manor of Lillington, advowson of the churches of Lillington and Leamington Priors, and rectory, messuages, lands, fishing in the Avon and Leam, etc, at Lillington, in consideration of £10553 15s paid by Wise (£9693 15s to the Granthams and £860 to Newton), to the use of Dame Jane for the remainder of her life, then to Wise and his trustees Card and Tonson, with covenants and agreements for the levying of a fine, the suffering of a recovery and the retention of title deeds and related documents with Dame Jane during her life.
