DescriptionIndenture of gift by lord Matthew de Bassyngburn to lord Henry le Scrop, of all his lands and holdings in Ellerton on Swale, Yorkshire, to be held of the capital lord of the fee for the term of Henry's life at the annual rent of a rose, with clauses for warranty to Henry's heirs and exectors should he die within 5 years and for the handing over of profits and rents if seisin is not delivered before the next feast of the Pentecost [18 May], and sealing.
Witnesses: William de Herle, John de Denom, Roger Oysel, John de Todenham, Geoffrey de Fyngale, William de Swynnythuayt, Peter de Swynnythuayt and others.
Dated at London, 12 May 13 Edw son of Edw.
Endorsed with note of enrolment on the Coram Rege rolls in Easter Term 13 Edw son of Edw, and with number "51" in ink.
Seal: of Matthew de Bassingbourn, with design of four crescents in quarters of coat of arms, round, cream-coloured, attached by tag.
