DescriptionIndenture of bargain and sale by Sir John Morley of Halnaker, Sussex, knight, of the 1st part, to William Ford of Harting, Sussex, esquire, of the 2nd part, and Sir William Browne of Loseley, Surrey, knight, Humphry May of Colrey, county of Southampton, esquire, and Richard Carill of Harting, Sussex, esquire, of the 3rd part, of the manor of East Lavant, Sussex, with messuages, mills, lands, etc in Lavant, Tangmere, Easthampnett and Eartham, Sussex and the parish of St Botolph without Aldgate, London, a messuage called Lee Farm in Pulborough and other lands, tenements and hereditaments in Selsey, Clarham, Alfriston and Boxgrove, Sussex, and the rectory of Selsey, Sussex, to be held for a term of 21 years after the death of Sir John Morley in trust for the raising of £3000 for preferment in marriage of his daughter Elizabeth Morley or on her reaching the age of 18, with the residue of rent and profits to go to his son William Morley at the age of 22, with provision for voiding of the lease upon re-payment of the consideration sum of 5 shillings.
